St. Paul Lutheran Church

Women of the ELCA (WELCA)

Description:

Women of the ELCA is an organization open to all women of St. Paul.   We seek to provide social activities which the women in our church will enjoy and use to connect with one another, to provide opportunities to study God’s word with other women, and to take part in social ministry activities.   We support and cooperate with the Southeast Synod WELCA organization which supports the national WELCA.

Meetings:

The WELCA Board meets quarterly and all women who want to become involved are invited to attend the board meetings where event planning is done.  Women of all ages are encouraged to take part in any or all of the scheduled activities.

Additional Information:

WELCA asks members of the congregation to save and donate a variety of items which are used to support various ministries.  Items that are currently being collected on an on-going basis include:
  • Pull tabs from soup cans, soda cans, and pet food cans – Benefits Ronald McDonald Houses in the Southeastern Synod.
  • Empty aluminum cans – These are collected at the church and the money from their sale supports WELCA projects.
  • Campbell Soup Labels – for education
  • Soap (wrapped bars in any size) – These go to Lutheran World Relief.
